Today I am 36, and the meds are kicking in so I am starting to feel better thankfully.
Maya's poor red nose is still running like crazy and today she is not coughing alot.
She also is napping which is a good sign since she has been on a nap strike through this sickness.
If she seems ok later I'd LOVE to try and go out for dinner-we have been on lockdown since last Thursday. That's ok, I mean thats how you get better, but it would be nice. We will see.
I made myself a nutella birthday pie, and some vegan belgian waffles for breakfast for everyone.
If I'm in the kitchen I must be feeling better.

:(
It is heartbreaking witnessing my cild ill and knowing I can't do much to help her.
Her nose is running like a champ, and she can't breathe, so she was up alot last night.
Today we welcomed back her horrible cough, just as I thought it was slowly leaving us.
As I type, Pedja is in with her trying to get her back to sleep for the 5th time in under an hour.
Within 5 minutes of falling asleep, she coughs so much it wakes her up again.
I am patiently waiting for my antibiotics to kick in and am upping my pro-biotic intake.

:(
Soooooo, I woke up at 2am because I thought someone was stabbing me in the ear.
I now have an inner ear infection AND a sinus infection along with my 10 day sore throat and 7 day nasty cough.
I started Amoxicillian and will be on it for the next 7 to 10 days. I am SO looking forward to feeling well again. I promise to never take my good health for granted ever again.
Maya is coughing very little but her poor red nose is still running quite a bit.

Maya was a coughing more yesterday and her nose was running again. It felt like a step back from the day before.
Today was less coughing but still a runny nose. Her spirits are up though so that's a good sign.
The boys are fine. Im getting better each day, but still have a ways to go. Now I am coughing up lovely loogies.
Oh, and last night was the premiere of my FAVORITE show ANTM, and Maya played quietly by herself for the entire hour so I could watch. How the heck she knew that was the right thing to do, I will never know, but I was so proud of her and SO happy I got to see it!

So today there was very little coughing, but when it happened it sounded gnarly.
There was also very little nose running. And very little eating.
The boys are fine.
Mentally I am feeling much stronger, but physically I still feel crappy and have now pretty much lost my voice. I sound like I'm whispering but am talking as loud as I can. And my head is so congested I can't hear anything. No fun Tracy right?

Well yesterday was awful for her. She seemed to be getting worse instead of better,so as a neurotic crazy first time mom, I called her doctor. In my defense though, he did say if things got worse over the weekend to feel free to call the on-call doctor.
When I was speaking to her, Maya was coughing and she said "you need to take her to urgent care. If I can hear her, that's not good." So we packed up and headed out. Surprisingly, we were seen in under 30 minutes which is UNHEARD of at urgent care. The doctor listened to her chest, checked her ears, throat, and temperature, (still no fever) and said she's sick yes, but nothing to be concerned with. It just needs to run it's 1-2 week course, and she will be as good as new. I mentioned I was worried it could turn into bronchitius, I mean this cough is horrible, but he wasn't buying it. She hasn't had much of an appetite either, but that's normal too. As long as she's hydrating somehow. So as Luka said, better to be safe than sorry, and it was not a wasted trip. It did give me peace of mind.
Luka and Pedja are feeling better, I am another story.
She was coughing alot last night and it woke her up many times.
But today she ate a big breakfast of baby cereal with pears and apples in it, 2 waffles, and a scrambled egg, all washed down with chamomile tea. Her nose also didn't run for the first 2 hours she was up - that's a huge improvement since its been running nonstop since friday. I think we are on our way back to health!

final score
A-5
B-1
Yep, that's Luka's first report card here at Emerson in 7th grade.
We are SO proud of him.
He asked Pedja is going to take him fishing as his reward once the weather is better.

Well, not to sound negative, but this stinks.
The whole house has some degree of a cough and or cold.
Maya has it the worst. She has a hard time breathing, so that means a hard time nursing, and a gnarly phlemy cough. Her nose is constantly running and it's clear which is good-and no fever, added bonus.
No appetite really and so uncomfortable so she is super fussy.
Pedja has it the mildest, so he is cooking and cleaning and being all around awesome on top of working like crazy.
It could be worse, we could have all gotten it 1 at a time and been sick for the next couple of months.
At least we are getting it all over with at once- I hope.

monkey see monkey do
I need to brag about my big girl!
Here are some of Maya's accomplishments to date:
Identify her nose, mouth, ears, toes, and fingers.
Advise me when she has a wet diaper. And points to where I need to put her diaper cream when Im changing her.
Put her dirty clothes in her hamper.
Walk by herself from our house to the elevator down the hall.
Says "go go go " when I put her in her car seat.
Waves hi and bye and can blow a kiss-- well she puts her hand to her mouth -- not officially blowing, but close enough for me.
Knows her shoes and socks go on her feet.

water water everywhere
I am a little concerned. Maya is now screaming through my ENTIRE shower every morning, and as soon as I turn the water off and get out she stops.
When it's time for her bath, she screams in in utter terror, claws on to Pedja and tries to climb out.
She went through this once before but it wasn't as bad, so I know this too shall end.
It's just hard because she treats every meal like it's her hair gel, and the other day when she was sitting in my lap and we were reading, I leaned in for a whif of her yummy baby smell around her ear/back of the neck area, and she smelled like rotten cheese- and she doesn't eat cheese.
