reunion!

We had a birthing class reunion potluck last week which was awesome!
Janine, Zak, and baby Aya were in town for a quick visit from Beirut where Zak has been studying for the past year. Janine showed up with a beautiful baby bump, and Aya's baby brother is due on her birthday- December 30!
Edina and Dawson came, and Xander and his dad Phillip came too.
The kids played, and we all got to catch up and eat, just like old times.
It was such a great day!
That's Dawson being the super model that he is posing for a solo shot, Maya rocking Aya in the blue chair, Xander washing dishes in the sink, and a group shot.

Box head

I have no idea why but I can't turn it around.

Maya's first wallet

Maya received the greatest gift possibly EVER from her great grama Nina a couple of weeks ago.
A Melissa and Doug rainbow wallet.
She has not put it down since.
She takes the money, coins, and cards out. She puts the money, cards, and coins back.
Over and over. Its great.

Ready for the paparazzi in her glasses.
Oh, what's in her yo gabba gabba purse you ask?
A book (panda bear, panda bear what do you see?) and her wallet.

These boots are made for walkin' part II

Check out this headbanging action shot in my cowgirl boots!
Oh, and this apple dress is her new favorite.
She walks around pointing to herself saying "apple apple apple" all day.

Big shoes to fill

Taking a walk in her brothers size 12 shoes.

apples + figs = YUM

The other day I decided to make home made pop-tarts, so I bought some fig spread to be Ms. fancy pants.
Then I decided not to.
Then I saw some apples on the counter, and looked in the freezer and found puff pastry.
I put them all together, and voi-la!
An apple fig tarte was born.
I wanted to make something Maya could eat with us, since she doesn't eat all the sugary desserts we do-fruit or a cereal bar or some honey nut cheerios is about it.
I only put a teeny bit of sugar to carmelize the apples as they baked, so it was totally ok for her.
Do you think she ate it? Or was remotely interested in it? Even just the puff pastry part?
NOPE.
Well her loss. It was delicious

the artist at work part II

I'm not sure if you know this, but Luka really enjoys cooking and baking, and makes dinner once a week for us.
Here he is making some veggie chili.

First manicure

Well sort of. She's a bit too young and wiggly for polish, but she did ask for some nail stickers. It's hard to see but they are stars. She went to sleep with 10 on, and woke up with 1. No idea where the heck they all went.
Oh I'm lying. I found 1 in her hair, and 1 in mine. The other 8 are still MIA.

Date night

Pedja and I had our first night out without children on September 17.
We went to a lovely wedding, drank lots of champagne, and got all dressed up. It was fantastic. I have no pictures because my skin was so broken out, I refused to let my mom take any. BUT I did get a blow out, so at least my hair looked fab.
Maya stayed with Gamin (her way of saying Grandma for my mom) and Luka.
She was great until bedtime, when she ran out of milk. How does one run out of milk you ask? Well I have been pumping, and had a stash of 6 bags in the freezer, but I guess there was not alot in those bags, and she sucked them down pretty fast.
She ended up staying up until we got home at 1130pm, Luka was fast asleep, and my mom never wants to hear the words yo gabba gabba again. Apparently thats what saved the day.
