Happy Birthday!

For Pedja's 40th birthday I took the family on a surprise vacation to San Diego. I was so happy I pulled it off. I had been planning it for months. We went to the Wild Animal Park 1 day and spent the rest of the time in the hotel pool. Believe it or not, this was our very first family vacation.

Maya and I had a lovely day at the beach. A sweet family even let her fly their kite. She took a reading break because playing in the sand is exhausting.

Maya finally tried vegan ice cream this summer. She now asks for it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Ive created a monster. Mint is her favorite.

Finally

Its official. We have 4 US citizens in the house now. We got kicked out of the ceremony because Maya had a screaming meltdown and the other attendees couldnt hear. His US passport arrived earlier this month, and his ticket was the first one I ran with my new job. He leaves December 19.

Love is in the air

I officiated my aunt and uncles re-marriage ceremony this summer. It was a surprise to the bride held at a winery in Temecula. Maya got to be a flower girl with her cousins. This is not a good angle for me. Maya is not up to my chest although she is very tall. And yes Luka towers over me at 15. All 6 feet 2 inches of him.

welcome back!

Well hello. This has been quite a crazy year in the Milenkovic house. I mean its almost September and my last post was April! Time has flown by. A quick update: Luka began 10th grade at Uni High School. He worked all summer as an assistant chef for kids camp at the cooking school I worked at the last 5 years and loved every minute. He will FINALLY be going to Serbia over winter break to see his mom after almost 3 years. Maya's last day at the cottage was Friday. She will be starting preschool at the Y (same place just different part of the property) on Tuesday and is very excited. Although not mandatory for preschool, we are practicing potty training a bit more intensely these past few days. She is the only one of her friends still in diapers during the day. I know she won't be in diapers forever, but I'm just trying to ask her if she needs to pee and keeping diapers off of her for longer periods of time. Pedja is working at a different Whole Foods as assistant manager and is much happier. And as for me- Over the last few months I was working 3 part time jobs in the culinary world and dabbling with canning. I was planning on starting my own home-made food business by the end of the year. But as the stars aligned, that was not meant to be - at least for now. As of September 9, I am thrilled to say I am the 1 and only west coast travel agent of Ascot Travel Services NY! I will be working from home part time monday-friday. I was in NY earlier this month for training. Maya and nana came withe me. I am VERY happy and looking forward to my "new old job" as I like to call it.
